Here is a little bit about me!

Diagnosed with T1D

On a family road trip from Calgary to Vancouver, I kept asking my dad to pull over so I could go to the bathroom. Over and over again.

After weeks of bedwetting and extreme thirst, my parents took me to a walk-in clinic.

A few hours later, everything changed and I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.

Got my first pump

After we moved to Vancouver, my mom asked BC Children’s Hospital if I could go on an insulin pump.

They said yes, and I have been wearing one ever since.

Managing my life meant using biomedical technology every single day. Tubing, infusion sets, devices clipped to my waistband.

That daily relationship with medical technology quietly shaped me.

Started my second jewelry business

While studying engineering, I started Designs by Chlo, weaving earrings between classes and selling them online.

It taught me how to design, produce, market, and sell.

Two years later, I launched Surf & Stone, a full lifestyle jewelry brand rooted in surf culture and craftsmanship.

It grew. Retail partners. Customers around the world.

But there was a disconnect.

I was designing beautiful pieces for wrists and necks while the most visible thing on my body was still something I wanted to hide.

Graduated Systems Engineering and began my career in manufacturing

I graduated in Systems Engineering and began working in manufacturing, designing processes, optimizing systems, building products.

But the first system I ever learned to manage was my own body.

Growing up using an insulin pump shaped the way I see design.

Function matters. Reliability matters.

But so does how something feels to wear.

For years, I thought I would join a medical device company and improve things from within.

Instead, I started asking a different question:

What if we didn’t redesign the device, but redesigned how it looks on us?

Married my best friend

In 2020, I met my best friend, Moses.

Six months later, we were engaged.

In May 2021, we were married.

In the middle of a world that felt uncertain, I found something steady.

He has walked through every version of this journey with me, the devices, the lows, the businesses, the doubts, and now… the dream.

Some T1D Modelling

Moses encouraged me to step in front of the camera.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to model and create content for brands like Frankies Bikinis, Djerf Avenue, and Vitae Apparel.

And for the first time, I stopped trying to hide my devices.

My pump. My sensor. Fully visible.

What once felt like something to conceal became something I carried with confidence.
